Multiroom Audio
Traditionally the CD player and Tuner have largely given way to the ipod and media server. In the near future internet radio and streaming content will become the mainstream source of program material.

Home Theatre
Traditionally the VCR, then Laser Disk player then DVD player and Satellite Decoder. Today's common sources include the Media Server and HD recorders, with HDDVD and Blu Ray DVD players now on the market. 

As with Multiroom Audio, the future will see more content streamed from providers rather than brought as a disk and moved from place to place.
